Great Buy - Iphone

Yesterday, we took a bus (no: 38) to expo conventional hall. It has been quite a while since hubby & I took the public transport. The 15mins ride was kinda fun! All we need to do were to sit back and relax. Don't have to stuck in a jam and also hassle free to search for a empty carpark lot.

When we were there, we were overwhelmed by the crowd. It was in a total messed, everyone was rushing in different directions. Expo were having several fairs: Food festival, Electronic, Popular & John little mega sales. Took us awhile to make our way to the electronic fair.

Saw the Starhub booth, hubby went over and got a really good deal for Iphone handset at $148 after $200 off for switching over from Singtel. In addition, also got 20% off monthly subscription under corporate (now only have to pay $40 per month) with free SIM card and $30 Robinson Voucher. So far the best deal as compare to other service provider!!!!

Hubby & his great buy!!!!

Dislikes

Dislikes:
♥ Hot & humid weather; making us sweat like hell & super dehydrated
♥ Reckless drivers cuts lanes without signalling & tailgating
♥ Shopping on weekends and after office hours; malls are overly crowded
♥ Hard to find carpark lots and expensive parking fee & ERP
Polluted air making us hard to breathe
♥ People are getting graceless

Errands

Hubby & I are still having jet lag. The crossing time zones cause us to wake up during the night and also make us difficult to get to sleep. Hope we can readjust to the new time zone asap.

Today, is a busy day for us! Had lunch at mum's house then we head out to run our errands:
♥Transfer SP services ownership @ HDB Hub Toa Payoh
♥Re contract & transfer broadband and home line
♥Change of our mobile service plan
♥Get a new petrol excess pass for our car
♥Meet up Mother-in-law for
♥Visit Hubby's grandma

Finally.... all errands were done!

Last Day in Dallas, Texas

Today is our last day in Dallas, Texas, where I used to call our temporary home!

Guess what I did today?????

Morning 9am, went for my follow up check up after the op. As usual, they took my urine sample, blood pressure & body temperature. Everything is good except that I'm still tested slightly positive on the pregnancy urine test which means the hormones level in my body has not totally "reset" (layman term) to the original self. Told by doc that this is normal, usually have to wait for 3-4weeks and was told to take my folic acid daily. Most importantly, the doc advised us to try for baby only in another 3 months time so to give enough time to recuperate completely.

Then, we headed to our apartment for the walk through inspection. Meet up with their new staff, Monica, she is real nice.... went through real quick. Main focus - carpet, oven, dishwasher & stove.... all clean and hand over the keys with no penalty!

Afternoon, meet up Irene and Angel for our last shopping in Grapevine. Really enjoy myself! All of us went home with bags of Forever 21 clothings & Aerie stuff.

4D3N Hotel Stay

All of us are entitled to a 4D3N stay before we depart home. Yesterday at 3pm, check into our hotel - Staybridge (5mins drive from our apartment). I would consider this hotel kinda luxurious, it comes with a small kitchen, living room and a Master room. Very well decorated. Warm and comfortable especially in the Master room. We were so drained off after a day cleaning of our apartment. So by 10pm, Hubby and I completely knock off and snuggled into our cozy bed.

This morning, we started our day kinda early at around 8am. First, we had free breakfast at the lobby and then headed off to our apartment for our last round of cleaning. We spent almost 2 hours vacuuming, mopping and removing all the unwanted stuff/cartons from our garage. Finally, everything is completely done. All we need to do now is to wait. Monday is the day to walk through the apartment whereby the apartment Manager will inspect the whole unit before we officially returning them all our house keys.

Hopes the inspection turns out well.

Emptiness

All boxes collected... my home is completely empty now....
I can even hear the echoes while we talk

our luggages are all packed....left cleaning of the apartment

Will get it done by today before we hand over on Saturday
3 more days to my last road trip in USA - Hawaii before we return to Singapore.
Can't wait to get see my mum newly renovated house and all my lovely friends.

random updates

Today is my 5th day after the op. Everything seems ok.... no pain at all... just as normal.

Understand from my mum that women after this op is just like giving birth.
Women is believed to be weak and ‘cold’, one should keep warm with ‘heaty’ foods and wear plenty of warm clothing.

So, after talking to mum, I have to be on confinement for at least 2 weeks. In order to recuperate properly from the op, I must eat plenty of wine, sesame oil and herbs and also need ample rest.
So over the week, hubby has been helping me to cook, doing all the house work and packing all the stuff.辛苦了!

There is one person in particular that I want to thank... she is Daphne. She cooked delicious confinement food for me...really appreciate.... Thanks so much! Love ur Pork Knuckles Vinegar.... even my hubby also praise ur cooking skills.

Unforgettable day

Monday will be the most unforgettable day in my 29 years of life
At 6am, need to arrive at Las Colinas Medical Centre
At 7am, Dr Weix will perform Dilation and Curettage (D&C) operation to remove the fetus
the whole procedure only takes about 10mins and the fetus will be GONE.
Let's pray that this will a fresh start for me and hubby!

I will not be blogging as often as I need to recuperate at home
Thanks helen for providing the confinment dishes menu. Will definitely take good care of myself.

What can cause a miscarriage?

Came across while surfing the causes of miscarriage:
Approximately 40% of miscarriages have no medical explanation for their occurences. Also 50-60% of first trimester and 20% of second trimester miscarriages are due to chromosomal abnormatlities within the fetus.

What are chromosomes?
Chromosomes are tiny string-like structures in cells of the body that contain the genes. Humans have about 20,000 to 25,000 genes that determine traits like eye and hair color. They also direct the growth and development of every part of the body (3).

Each person normally has 23 pairs of chromosomes, or 46 in all. We inherit one chromosome per pair from our mother and one from our father.

Sometimes, however, a baby can be born with too many or too few chromosomes, or with one or more chromosomes that are missing a piece or are rearranged. These errors in the number or structure of chromosomes can cause a wide variety of birth defects ranging from mild to severe. Some chromosomal abnormalities result in miscarriage or stillbirth.

What causes chromosomal abnormalities?
Chromosomal abnormalities usually result from an error that occurred when an egg or sperm cell was developing. It is not known why these errors occur. As far as we know, nothing that a parent does or doesn't do before or during pregnancy can cause a chromosomal abnormality in his or her child.

Sperm and egg cells are different from other cells in the body. These cells have only 23 unpaired chromosomes. When an egg and sperm cell join together they form a fertilized egg with 46 chromosomes.

But sometimes something goes wrong before fertilization. An egg or sperm cell may divide incorrectly, resulting in an egg or sperm cell with too many or too few chromosomes.

When this cell with the wrong number of chromosomes joins with a normal egg or sperm cell, the resulting embryo has a chromosomal abnormality. A common type of chromosomal abnormality is called a trisomy. This means that an individual has three copies, instead of two, of a specific chromosome.

Down syndrome is an example of a trisomy. Individuals with Down syndrome generally have three copies of chromosome 21. Children with Down syndrome have varying degrees of mental retardation, characteristic facial features and, often, heart defects and other problems. The risk of Down syndrome and other trisomies increases with maternal age.

In most cases, an embryo with the wrong number of chromosomes does not survive. In such cases, the pregnant woman has a miscarriage. This often happens very early in pregnancy, before a woman may realize she's pregnant. Up to 75 percent of first trimester miscarriages are caused by chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo.

Thanks for all the support!

To all my friends,

A big thank you to those who have left me supportive messages... greatly appreciated!

I know God is always fair and he always has his own reasons for such arrangements. I will never doubt him and I know deeply in my heart that some day I will be blessed with what I pray for.

Today I came to realise that life and death is just separated by a very thin line.... anything can happen at any moment... so learn to cherish what you have. I have learnt alot from this experience... be strong and stay positive! Life is so vulnerable!

Devastated

DEVASTATED is the only word that can explain my feeling now! Went for my 2nd checkup.... thought we would be able to see the little fingers and limbs of my baby but yet I received the cruelest outcome from the doc.... there is no heart beat, the baby isn't growing and the only thing I can do is to terminate my pregnancy. No miracle will happen confirmed by the doc.
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY.... is all I am asking! I can't accept the facts at all....
Why God got to do this to us? We wanted so much to be loving parents... why, why is he punishing us? did we did something wrong that why he is doing this to us?

Can't stand my messy house!

Finally, all our stuffs are 90% packed. Can't believe that we actually have maxed out our boxes entitlement. Whao! Never realize that we have bought so much stuff. Still remember 2 years back, we only had 20 small boxes of belongings.... now we have 40 big boxes with a few bulky items (Mattress, sofa bed & TV). Can't imagine rite? Guess a lot of people will be like us....simply can't resist the temptation when sales are on! Is just too good to give it a miss... so kept on buying & buying lor! HAHAHA....

Day by day, my 1 bedroom apartment has turned into a storage room. Boxes can be found at every possible corners....feeling so suffocated! Argh.... can't stand it any longer! Endures is what i needed most now.... maybe i should stop thinking of all the mess and start planning my last road trip - Aloha in Hawaii in less than 2 weeks.

A Miracle In The Making

End of March, I seem to know something is different in me. I had abdominal bloating, swollen breasts and also a missed period. These are obvious signs of pregnancy. So on 29 March, we did a home pregnancy test.... DADA! I AM PREGNANT!!!! Hubby & I were nervous, excited, surprised, scared, delighted and many more emotions. It is just too amazing to have our own little baby!!!!

Photobucket

On 9 April, went for our first checkup at Dr. Patrick Weix clinic, the feeling of waiting in line was so scary. Hubby could even feel me shivering, he knew that whatever he says now will not calm me down. So, he just held my hand firmly and pray for baby and me. I was so touched.

After a long wait, finally is my turn. I was being ask to go into a room and lay on the bed. Doctor is going to do a sonogram aka Ultrasound on my lower belly area. As the baby is still small, the images captured on screen were not clear. In the end, we had to do a virginal sonogram. The moment the screen appear, I could see baby's heartbeat and everything else was great... the feeling was so indescribable. My tears started to flow!
1st checkup, I'm 6 weeks and 5 days
Expected due date is 3rd December 2010 (going to be a baby tiger)
baby is only 0.37cm (oh my gosh... is so small)
