Xavier First visit to Jurong Bird Park

18 Dec 2014

I can't recall when was the last time i actually visited the Jurong Bird Park (JBP) so we decided to have a family outing to JBP
we were all excited and looking forward it.

Our first stop is the Penguin Coast. It is the nearest attraction to the entrance. Xavier loves this place very much! There were so many species of penguins!

some have to evolve to live in the freezing cold Antarctica

Wooh, penguins were found at the outdoor pond
Amazing, the outdoor pond houses the African penguins that could adapts to the tropics

Next destination: World of Darkness
this is where they housed the Owls...

We entered into a room of darkness. My fav: Snowy Owl

Next, the birds and buddies show
we are welcomed by a flock of flamingos and various birds flewing pass the audience
the entire show is fun filled, educational and entertaining

We headed to the Lory Loft. It is one of the free flight aviaries in the Bird Park. Lory Loft has so many colourful (red, yellow, green and blur feathered) Lorries within!

We walked to the two-tiered central feeding tower where visitors can purchase and feed the birds. Beneath it is the suspension bridge and we saw lories flying past us. They are everywhere! On the branches of the trees, on the tower, at the side bars. They are so so beautiful, colourful, noisy and bold! No matter how close we are to them, they stayed where they are instead of flying away. It was so fun to watch them at such a close distance!

Then to the Bird discovery centre where it house some fun and interesting facts.

Before we leave, we walked further ahead to see the Flamingos and took some photos with the birds!

So we left the park, had our lunch and a good long nap for the rest of the afternoon :)
It has been a fun family trip to JBP
