Our first stop was at Yue Mei, wanted to get Tau Cheong for Yong Tau Foo sauce and Frozen pandan leave and tapioca starch for my burbur cha cha dessert. After searching for quite sometime, finally found the tau cheo aka soy bean paste... there were a few different brands... i didn't know which was nicer so i just grabbed the smallest and the cheapest bottle. Hope the taste will turn out well. Spent $10.
Our 2nd stop was Walmart, this was where we always get our daily groceries like bread, milk & eggs etc... but this time i also bought some sweet potatoes... they were selling @ $0.89/Lb. We also got ourselves a bunch of banana ($0.37/LB) and a big bag of grapes ($1/lb). Spent $6.
Our last stop was at Hmart, I got the whole chicken at only $2.50.. considered cheap ba! Among all other stuff, the most expensive was the red snapper for the curry fish @ $4.99/LB. Spent $20.
We reached home at around 5.30pm, i cooked a pot of dried scallop porridge for dinner and together with left over wingstop, string bean eggs and BBQ chicken. After dinner, I started to prepare the ingredients for Burbur cha cha. Everything turned out well except for the tapioca jelly... I followed the recipe closely but i just cannot make it into a dough... at first i thought i added too much water but i tried making the 2nd time... it failed again! Argh... in the end... i just omit the tapioca jelly...
