Xavier's First Molar

Baby teeth are known to be growing in this order. (Well, mostly, you can see that Xavier's teeth is a little late....)

I am suspecting Xavier to be teething again. This time is his lower first molar. He has started to show discomfort and signs of teething. He is constantly pulling and digging in his mouth, biting and chewing on his teether and waking up in the middle of the night. He seems a little more cranky these two days... Hmmmm.. need to check in his gum more often!

 

 

Toothspotting

Yesterday, I felt something sharp while I was cleaning his gums.
*Grin* His top front teeth are sprouting.

 It is accompanoed by lots of
drooling and chewing on anything that he can get his hands on
(shape sorter, board books and mega blocks)
We had no problem with the bottom teeth but with the top
 it seems causing many unpleasant diapers

He is in his happy mood, sleeps fine and eating and drinking just fine
with no fever
So, i guess I will chalk it up to teething
 I am anticipating for the arrival of his little front teeth :)

Buddy's updates

Buddy is cutting his second tooth, bottom left, and he's started trying to stand. He did it without support yesterday but only last for a few seconds. It doesn't matter as long he try! Nowadays, it's been really fun to watch him contort his body in new positions. It looks a lot like he's break dancing in slow motion. He's very serious about it all too, of course.

You probably cannot see clearly the little tooth, but they are the front incisors, just break through of the gums

Milestone - Buddy's First Tooth

Baby teeth usually grow in a fairly specific sequence — usually the top or bottom two incisors are cut first, followed by the other pair that didn’t cut through the surface first.

Buddy cut his first tooth, just poking out of the gums, his bottom right incisor, on 18 July, the day he turned 9mths 1wk old. We have been waiting for these little teeth to grow forever! And it really took some time for it to grow!

Tried taking a photo of his little tooth but it cannot be seen clearly. If we use our fingers to feel it, it is pretty obvious that there is a tooth coming! Will try to take a photo again :)

Is Drooling = teething?

The frequent understanding of the reason why babies drool is because of teething. But is it true????

Apparently, this is not what we are facing now.

Little man has started to drool much more than usual about a week ago. He is drooling and gnawing on everything in sight while everyone exclaims, "OH! He must be teething."   but no actual teeth have popped through just yet.

So drooling does not equal to teething. It is just part and parcel of being a baby! At this age, Xavier likes to gasp things and try to stick them into their mouth. Everything, from blankets, pillows, toys and my fingers...he is simply just exploring the little things he can lift up!!!

One thing though, he seems a little more cranky these two days... Hmmmm.. need to check in his gum more often!
