Hubby and I woke up at 10am, prepared breakfast - butter toast bread & banana yogurt frappy. We sat in front of the laptop to discuss about our upcoming Florida road trip on 5 Dec to 13 Dec. This is the first road trip all by ourselves, we felt so excited and really looking forward to it.
First we wanted to get our air tickets at a reasonable price with good timing. After surfing http://www.priceline.com/. We could not find anything close to our preference for round trip. In the end, we have to book our tickets separately i.e. one-way from DFW (depart 7.10am) to MCO (with 1 stop @ Houston) & one-way direct from MCO (depart 8.30pm) to DFW. The price came up to $448.60, which was a very good deal!
As for our lodging, we have booked Days Inn Orlando/International Drive. The location of the Inn is very strategic, is located 1 mile to Universal Orlando park and 20mins drive to Disney World. The Inn also provided free shuttle to some of the attractions. At first, we thought of taking the free shuttle to save on the car rental fee. But after discussing, hubby would rather rent a car, so we could travel as and when we like & not restricted to the shuttle timing. We booked @ $262 for 9D8N ( to get further discount, will present a $5 off coupon at check in).
Lastly is the car rental, we booked our car from Budget through our insurance (USAA) website... in this case, we did not need to buy insurance from Budget. Moreover, renting through USAA, we were able to rent it at a discounted price. It came up to $257 for a period of 8days for a Pontiac G6 or similar.
After all our mission had accomplished, I started preparing our lunch "Braised Pork belly". This would be hubby's packed dinner too and a bowl of bubur cha cha!
Tomorrow, hubby will be having his hearing test at airforce base @ 1pm. So tonight, he will be releasing from work by 12am. Liyi's hubby CT will be having his hearing test too, so liyi and I have decided to go BX to shop for some cosmetic.
