CA Road Trip - Day 1 San Diego

We've been back from our family trip for almost a week now and we had a blast with the QUEK Family! I will now fill you in on all of our fun as I take the next several days to share with you the details and photos of our travels.

Today’s post is about the first day of our trip….San Diego!

5 May 2013, Sunday

Woke up 5.30am. Xavier had no trouble waking up. He was raring to go :)
Drank milk before leaving to airport...with a blur look

At the airport, he did fine going through the security and he was pretty good on

the 2 hours plus flight

my biggest worry for day one was that our flight would be delayed

Thank goodness that didn't happen and we made it to San Diego right on schedule
Took a free shuttle to the car rental facility, the process took longer than expected 
despite having reserved a car weeks ago. Apparently, the car was not ready yet. Poor Service!

After collecting our car, we head to "Saigon on Fifth" located right in the heart of Hillcrest for lunch. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced

After that, we ventured over to Carlsbad premium outlets
Not really much of a deal at any store, so didn't really buy anything

We finished our day with dinner at Outback Steakhouse
This was my first time eating at an outback steakhouse 
food was good prices reasonable
Great experience! 
Even the kiddos have lots of fun!

That's how we ended our first day. We had an early and good night rest to prepare for another blast at Legoland.
