Happy and Talkative, Buddy!

Buddy really knows the power of a smile --- at least that his makes everyone around him giddy. Every morning, buddy will flashes a toothless, ear to ear grin and this definitely brighten up our day. Sweet!

Buddy was really happy and talkative the entire day. And yes, he is really enjoying his 3 meals per day at this stage, including grain, fruit and veggie. As for meat, will introduce once he hits the 8 months mark. His milk intake has reduced to 28-30oz per day.

Today's meal planning:
Breakfast - Oat with banana and apple
Lunch - Rice with green bean
Dinner- sweet potato with corn
and ended with fresh strawberries using munchkin fresh food self feeder.

Having fun in the pool with buddy

Weather has been great lately. So, it is high time for buddy to hit the pool. He did have a blast today when we brought him out for his first ever outdoor swim. Well, technically, he cannot swim yet but he did soak in the water!

After applying enough sunscreen to buddy, changing into his mickey mouse swimsuit (bought by ahyi) with swimmer pants and inflating his trainer float (pass down by aunty alvia), Hubby slowly eased him into the pool.

So for those mummies and daddies with little baby, dun wait, just go out and have fun in the pool. I am sure they will love it and will ask for more once they know how to express their thoughts/desires.

So now, pool play has been added to buddy's schedule of activities.

Nap Time

Every Mom knows nap time is precious time.
Time to do those things you can't do when they are awake.
Like mop the floors, washing dishes or cooking.
Or time to do absolutely nothing.

Took his nap during the car ride home after grocery shopping

Regardless, their naps always seem to go so fast.
But sometimes the only thing better than nap time, is being greeted by this happy face afterwards!

Buddy, the attention seeker!

Recently, buddy likes to scream to get our attention. He is such an attention seeker now!
I think he's exploring the power of his voice and experimenting what he can do with it.
This video was taken while we were having our dinner. He screams cos he wanted his puffs!!! He's so cute

crawling - Milestone

Updates.

buddy is more than capable of completing this milestone :)

Buddy is pointing

To me, this is a fun age, where buddy not only start to communicate verbally but clearly seem to understand more and interact with us more.

Reading and talking to buddy as often as we can really helps in his language development and comprehension -- this is something we are strongly believe in! We always point out new object to buddy and give him a description on what we are doing --- this really helps!

Guess what! He really did pointing today ... i think for 3 times!!!

He started to observe and imitate now!  It's time to set a good example for buddy! Monkey see monkey do so I have to make sure our actions are teaching baby how to be a good, happy, and responsible person. Babies are extremely impressionable!

Busy Saturdays Morning

Saturdays are usually housework in the morning and family time after that.

My housework routine - laundry, vacuuming the floor, cleaning up all his toys/high chair and hanging the washed laundry at the patio!!!

My mum will then help to prepare all our lunchies including buddy's before we start our lovely weekends :)

Very satisfied!!!

Was clearing some boxes in the garage and surprised to find the long forgotten charts which I bought in Singapore.

Mama the obstacle

Recently, I notice that buddy is really starting to get a lot more steady in his crawling skills. He used to be only able to do leopard crawl. Now, he is getting the hang of crawling on all fours but he still prefer to walk with assistant.

Now, he will crawl to me when I call out to him asking him to crawl to me. He loves to crawl across obstacles "my legs" to get hold of toys. He loves to grab hold of my arms to stand up and many more!!!

His action really make me laugh!
He is growing up, fast!

Gym Class

4 more days, buddy will be 8 months old and he is getting really active. I like ;)

Is time to consider signing up for Gymboree classes for once a week to socialize and learn ;)))

Maybe I should sign up for a trial class while I research on other gym -  my gym and Kindermusik

Homemade Wagon!!!

The empty diaper box suppose to be used to keep all buddy's toys. But, buddy love it at first sight!! He spent an entire play time exploring the box. I put him in and use it as a wagon to push him around. He really enjoy the ride and spent the next 20mins sitting in the box.

Kicking a ball

Buddy knows how to kick the ball! Definitely something worth to remember :) Good Job!!!

Full of Laughter

Recently, I noticed that Buddy's laughter has changed. It's no longer an infant-type of laughter anymore. And I'm really in love with it now!

It's really a joy to hear buddy laughing uncontrollably. Such innocence never fails to make us laugh or smile. It's definitely contagious! Adorable and Delightful!

high nutritional mixed vegetable

Buddy has been having high nutritional mixed vegetable for the past 2 days.
Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrot and Butternut squash
Buddy squinted and waggled his brows at the first taste.
Second taste, he accepted and got over his initial dislike.
Babies really do make all sorts of funny faces when they try a new food. LOL!

Cruising with papa

Xavier tried to cruise along the side of my bed a  couple of days ago. Today was the first day I could catch it on video! Although his moves are still wobbly but I'm sure it's going to get better day by day ;)

Good job, buddy! Keep it up

Drinking from a straw continue

Buddy used a straw for the first time last weekend. We demo once for him and he seems very interesred to try whatever we were trying. He took sometime to figure out how the straw works.  He didn't know what was that sticking into his mouth and started chewing it. After a while, he began to suck and he had no problem getting the water out.

I think that's a baby's natural instinct to suck and get liquid. Babies are curious and like to play with straws anyway, so drinking from a straw is a big event for them. Hope that buddy will enjoy the hydration and learning a new action.

Will update with a video soon!!!!

First Father's Day

Papa's the man, so buddy and I are going to treat him with something extra-special...
shss..............shss................ shall keep it as a secret first :)

Potty training continues....

Its has been 9 days,  everything went so well. Buddy had gotten used to poo-ing in his little froggy potty everyday or twice a day ;D

Sweet corn - new food on the menu

Buddy has been joining us on the dining table in his high chair since the day he was on solid. He knew what was expected of him while we had our lunch/dinner. He would sit quitely and enjoy his food together with us but it has changed now!

He is getting more active day by day and can no longer sit quietly in the high chair. Buddy will try to touch whatever  that is on the dining table and will put everything in his mouth once he grabbed hold of anything. But, I'm very much in love such times :) that's part and parcel of a growing child right?

Anyway, we have started buddy on sweet corn. His first experience was my mum sweet corn soup. He Loves it! Today lunch - sweet potato and sweet corn puree!!! Yummy!!! I love it too :)

From lying to Sitting upright

These days, buddy has been making some huge learnings. He can now get from sitting to leopard crawling position and lying to sitting upright without any support. We never felt so proud for anyone before and we applaud him for a good try... Good job, baby !

(pardon me for the loud happy surprised voice)
