Xavier's masterpiece

Creation station arts and crafts week

The kids focused on artwork from famous artist

and had fun exploring different mediums of art

 Parents were invited to the art gallery 

where the teacher displayed all the children's masterpieces

I spotted Xavier's artwork 

Pick up time - children were so excited, all standing at the gate waiting for their parents

But my cheeky boy still happily sitting on the floor reading a book

After the event, we were allowed to bring the artwork home 

 I pasted it in the living room

 Aug 5 to 7  will be the last week of summer camp - backyard beach party

The children will be participating in different water activities such as waterslides,

water bombs, splash pools etc

Puzzle play

Another activity we've been doing lately is playing with jigsaw puzzles!

I believe that Jigsaw puzzles are very good training for the brains and have encourage Xavier to play it. Recently he is very much into it. He can play with it all day :)

This activities also train him to be more patience

Xavier is doing very simple 2 -6 piece puzzle - the one show in the pic!

18 July, Thursday

Had a little surprise celebration at home in the evening  
Bought a cake with singing of happy birthday song followed by cake cutting 
our cheeky boy is super happy about blowing the candles and cake cutting... maybe he think it is his birthday again LOL!

19 July Friday

We had a simple day walking around in the mall 
and my 2 men had a wonderful time playing at the children corner @ Galleria

20 July Saturday

21 months old!!!

Times flies! Our cheeky boy is a 21 months old toddler now! 

Again, Xavier have grown so much this month. He's beginning to repeat just about everything I ask him to. I noticed that he picked up things very fast! His comprehension and vocabulary is expanding and he's able to understand things once we taught him. It amazes us how smart, compassionate and loving he's.

He started to string words together and are coming out with loads of two- word or even three -word phrases. "Purple shoes", "Baby duck", "Night Night mama", "egg crack", "mama push". I often hear him muttering phrases to himself as if he's practicing. 

Because he's just learning to make sentences, the flow between his words is quite amusing. The words are abrupt, with a long pause in between the two, like he has decided to add a full stop in there.  "More. yo-gurt. More. yo-gurt". This was the first ever two word combination... it took me a while to realize what he were saying because he was muttering it in such a monotone chant LOL!

Some fun things Xavier is saying and doing: 

• ask for "big hugs" before falling asleep
• When we don't want him to touch something, he will say "no no baby"
• always initiate "clean up" before nap and bed time
• started to use "mine", he will say "Mine or Xavier's pillow" whenever I try to take away his pillow
• Loves to say "Oh No" 

It's been another amazing month and Xavier is learning so much each and everyday. Papa and mama love u so much :)

Counting 1 to 10

Xavier is able to count 1 to 10

However, he still can't really recognise all the numbers yet

but I'm delighted with this little achievement of his

Xavier's First Movie

8 July Monday, we went to see this movie 

Despicable Me 2 

I would rate it like a 4 out of 5

I still prefer sequel 1

But that is beside the point.

It was Xavier's first movie in a theater!!

He absolutely LOVED it!

He claps and laugh out loud at the good parts,

yell out an occasional "uh oh" when the minions turned evil 

He sat all by himself on the booster seat to get the full view of the screen

Surprisingly, he sat through the entire movie 

pretty much amazed at everything

It was a fun little family day out!!!

I wouldn't change a thing

Since becoming a mom so much has changed:

I rarely get to sleep later than 8.30am on a weekend
Majority of my day is spent singing songs with action like "Row Row Row the Boat", playing with toddler toys and reading children's books 
I've never been more excited to see another person crawl, walk, say a simple word
I spend a ton of time trying to teach Xavier the very basic and it can be so tedious and mindless for me but i find it so worth it when he gets it!
My living room looks like a toy store exploded everyday
My life revolves around the needs of my 20 months, not my own needs
...and it's all worth it and I wouldn't have it any other way :)
