We are going to Dallas Zoo

Hubby is on leave on Thursday and Friday 

And we have planned for a family trip to the Dallas Zoo tomorrow

Currently they are celebrating Penguin days (Jan-Feb)

So, the admission is just $5 per person 

awesome deal! 

Never try visiting a zoo in such a cool weather in my life before

Hope it will be a good experience.

First Attempt on pumpkin steamed cake

Last weekend, bought a quarter of fresh pumpkin for just USD 2.50 ($0.99 per pound)

the price is alot cheaper than spore according to my mom

save half for Xavier's porridge and not knowing what to do with the rest

Went on searching for pumpkin recipe

and to my surprise there are lots of toddler recipe using pumpkin

First on my to do list is to try making my favourite

"Steamed pumpkin cake" very similar to "Fatt Gou"

The recipe is fairly simple and quick to make even I'm a novice in baking

It just need a hand whisk and a mixing bowl....it's as simple as that

the process just took about 40mins and the results were wonderful, all smiling happily

and they were all soft and fluffy

I'm now wondering how the taste will be like 

Verdict: 
I love it. Xavier likes it too. Hubby, not a pumpkin lover, loves it too :))))

Long weekend, President's Day!

18 February Monday, is President's Day in Dallas 

So we get to spend a happy 3 days together! 

Saturday, 16 Feb 

We went Grapevine mills as I wanted to do a little shopping for Jas's baby girl due in May and Joce's 2 little tods

I'm so excited! Baby girls clothings are super cute

After our lunch, Xavier had his first experience riding in a baby carousel :)

Sunday, 17 Feb
Went to Willow Bend after Xavier woke up from nap @ 4pm
Drop by Macy's to check out the clearance for Infant and toddler clothing 
Too bad...nothing much! 
So we walked around the mall and left emptied handed as most of the shops closed at 6pm

Before we set off..  always smile until can't see his eyes (buey tahan)

Xavier is exceptionally cherry little boy today

Super Love! 

This is his way of dancing and he always crack us up 

Oh boy, Xavier's new thing is "driving' the car. He has fun steering the wheel, turning on the turn signals, turning on the wiper and adjusting the radio volume control

Chinese New year 2013

 First time spending our Chinese New Year with our little  toddler away from Singapore

Although there were not much new year feel here 

but at least there were ang baos and blackjack session

On the eve of chu xi, we had sumptuous lunch with hubby's colleague at JS Chen

This is where it serve really yummy dim sum

Xavier also get his little share as well

apart from having his quinoa rice blueberry pudding in the morning

9 Feb, Saturday
Chinese  New year's eve
We had reunion dinner at our place with his section friends
Instead of having steamboat, we had potluck
Sushi, Buffalo wings, stir-fry shrimp, pasta 
and Cheng Teng 

10 Feb, Sunday 
Part 1 : attend Fiona's birthday party 
Part 2: ban luck session at neighbour's house

11 Feb, Monday
Dinner and mahjong session at Evelyn's place 
our boys are the one having great time together
Xavier is 3 months older than Kai Jun 
Kai Jun is big and super huggable
They look so cute when they are together :)
