It's the 5 day into fall....

Today is the 5th day into fall season

Got buddy a new haircut

 



Another day of surprises!!!

I'm glad that Buddy is getting better and better each day 

Although he is down with a cold, he's still as playful as ever....

 

Buddy did alot to amaze us today

He's able to stand without support, took a few baby steps

 and get off the sofa all by himself

Oh seeing it so many times and like so finally

I managed to capture these actions on camera

though not yet smoothly but it's good enough

Buddy is sick but still full of life as ever :)

Well our precious little buddy and most loved member of the family is sick. After getting his flu jab for the first time, Buddy is down with a low grade fever and runny nose. Not a really sick baby but an unhappy baby I will say. He doesn't cry, he just wimpers and wiggles around. His fever hovers around 37.5 degrees, fed him 3 doses of paracetamol and placed a fever patch on his forehead. He has done better today then he did last night.

Saturday, we were supposed to join other friends for the annual balloon festival at Plano since buddy was not feeling well, we decided to stay home to nurse his health and also to enjoy the coziness of our nest... I'm glad I did.

Buddy may be sick but he's still active and being his cheeky self.

First Home Accident



17 Sept, Monday.

Boo Boo.

Buddy had a fall. He missed a step and hit his mouth against the edge of the TV console. Luckily, i had baby proof all edges with rubber cushion but i think the impact caused him to bite on his lip and bleed alittle and this resulted a chapped lips.

Nowadays, the weather cause the lips to be rather dry despite buddy drink lots of water. So, whenever I clean his mouth after his meal, his chapped lips will bleed a little. It must be super painful for him.

After reading online reviews, finally decided to buy "Boudreaux's baby kisses lip and cheek moisturizer", Buddy loves it when I apply for him... he will pout his mouth... so cute!!!! After applying 3-4 times, his kissable lips is back whahaha! 

9 & 10 month well check up

I'm glad Hubby is on childcare leave today.

 

Brought Buddy for his check up and also taking his 2nd dose of HIP and 1st doze of flu jab. Babies are advisable to take the vaccine as the flu can be quite serious. The next dose of flu jab will be in 4 weeks time and 3rd dose HIP at 15 month.

 

Buddy weight is now at 35th percentile and at a height of 95th percentile. Seems like he is growing vertically at a faster rate. "He's growing very well and he's going to be a tall baby, he's already having a height of a 12 months old, the doc exclaimed" I'm so happy and glad that he got his papa genes.

 

Next, we went back to the room and were asked to remove his clothing while waiting for the doc to check him. Everything seems good and normal but doc likes to check his iron level/anemia by doing some blood tests.

 

The nurse came and requested hubby to hold on to buddy while she prick on his big toes. Buddy didn't even flinch at first but started to cry and kick when the nurse squeezed his toes to get blood.....after a long struggle finally got a small tube of blood and follow on 2 jabs

A little biscuit after the trauma...... happy boy again :)

 

Took his temperature hourly, it was at a range of 37.3 ~ 37.5 degrees.

He was a bit feverish but not in danger zone yet

 

Fed him 1ml of Paracetamol and tug him to bed

Pray that he will be ok tmr!  Took his temp this morning, went back to 36.4 degree... yippi! a happy boy again :)

 

Going to bed now... nitez everyone :)

 

Brushing his teeth

 

Looking after baby teeth is important so it is good to inculcate good oral hygiene since young.

 

Since birth, we have been using damp gauze to clean his gum and tongue. From the moment the first baby tooth appears in his mouth, we used finger brushes that worn over the index finger to brush his teeth.

 

Now, with the growing of his 2 front teeth, we have bought him an infant toothbrush and toothpaste to begin cleaning his teeth at least once a day. And we brush together too. I make it a fun routine before his daily bath times. He enjoys watching me brush as he learns to do it too. Too cute!
