Hubby got home at about 7pm, he changed into his exercise attire then head to the gym le

Then, I started cooking for dinner

The outcome looks good!

Hubby being a big eater, this amt of Hor Fun definitely not enough for him

so i cooked a cup of rice to share

Pour the gravy over steam rice then it becomes

"Mui Fan"

Hubby got the permission from his superior to report to work late today

Cos' he had to bring the car to the workshop for repair @7.30am

then the workshop will assign him with a rental car

we do not need to pay for the rental fee as it is included in the insurance policy

Our vehicle will be ready latest by Thursday

Woke up since 6:15am.. very sleepy but can't sleep.Very horrible feeling!

since the weather is so cooling (21 degrees), decided to go out for a walk..

Guess where i went?

I walked to Walgreen!

It took me 10mins to reach there.. considered very fast rite?
I went there for the deals again!

See wat i bought this time....

I will try to workout deals that only need to pay the minimal cost

I paid $3.90 and got $4 extra bucks.. so all these are free again!

I seldom buy stuff from Walgreen unless there are really good deals

not really sure about their extra bucks policy too

example: This item is priced @ $5.99; after deducting a $2/1 manufacturer's coupon, still need to pay $3.99, i gave the cashier a $4 extra bucks... by right it should be able to take off.. but the cashier was unable to process, in the end I have a buy a travel Colgate @$0.99 in order for me to use the $4 extra bucks!

Is it suppose to that way... I find it very ridiculous

This is the first time I experience this

anyway... will take note of this in future!

New computer Virus - Green AV

Oh my gosh.... really sound so aunty rite!

Busy Saturday!

Attended a gathering organized by hubby's colleague at 6pm

Feeling pai sieh to go empty handed so prepared a thai dessert

Got the recipe online... and it was easy to do!

We also have a list of dessert that we are craving for:

1.Red Bean Soup with Sago and Glutinous rice balls

2.Sweetened bean curb, barley and ginko nuts

3.Tau Suan (so sad can't find "you tiao" in Hmart)

4.Cantaloupe Sago Shake

5.Black Glutinous rice (aka Bubur Pulut Hitam - my fav)

So, we went marketing early in the morning...

1st stop Yue mei then followed by Hmart

to get all the ingredients for these desserts.

By the time we reached home... it was already late afternoon

Hubby went to gym and I started to prepare the dessert

It was kinda rush!!!

This was my first time making this dessert

super worry that it might not turn out well

But.... hmmmm.... the outcome looks great and taste great..

So proud of myself...LOL

• Watress soup with fish ball and wolfberries

Think I overcooked today

This is the remaining portion after packing for hubby's dinner

I managed to finish the soup

as for the rest, we will have it for tomorrow's lunch!

Absolutely NO Integrity

Received a call from the insurance company this morning

Informing me that they are NOT going to be responsible for the damages

I was so fuming and disappointed

I do not understand how on earth they justify my claim..

after clarifying with them, then I realised that the driver had changed her statement

Instead of admitted her fault, she had declined all her responsibilities

Absolutely NO Integrity

Guess wat!

she even told her insurance that the fault lies with me.. the accident occurred because I was driving in the centre of 2 lanes... Oh my gosh.... I really cannot believe it...

there are no witnesses, no police report & they do not any photos

but they just believe wat the driver have said...

fuming..... fuming.....fuming...Arrgh...

We immediately called our own insurance USAA and file a case against her

this time.. i attached all the relevant photos and sketches for them to fight the case for me

we are confident that this time we will win the case!

In the meantime, we had to fork out $500 for the deductible to get our car repaired.. once we won the case, we will be able to get a refund.

Hubby went back to work today

working night shift @ 7pm

We woke up early and prepared breakfast together

We had tuna sandwiches

Hubby loves it!

At 1pm, we brought our car to the assigned workshop along I35

to assess the damages

apparently, the insurance company have yet to assume their liability

their decision will only be out in 2 days time..

Hope that they will take full responsibilities

Reached home at abt 230pm, started to prepare for lunch plus hubby's dinner

Cooked chicken curry and plain prata

This is the first time we had prata since we left home!

Both of us miss prata so much!

Bought it from India Bazzar (5pcs for $0.69)

Cheap cheap!

It is really nice...

But we still prefer the egg prata so will try adding a egg between 2 plains prata

Lunch at Red Lobster

To celebrate hubby's return from detachment, hubby wanted to bring me out for a special lunch.So he decided to dine at Red Lobster. Hubby had 1 1/4 steam maine lobster and I had shrimp lobster tail pasta. We even had a chocolate cookie desert.Initially we have no idea how big is the lobster untill when it was served to us, we thought that it was quite worth the price, hubby really enjoyed it and had a great time extracting the meat out of the lobster's shell. Yummy!!!

Hubby was so surprised for the things that I had prepared for him...He loves it!

Can't wait to open his present LOL!

He loves all the graphic tees and started trying all of them... All fits him well except the Polo Ralph surfer short... the size is too small le... got to return le!

After that, we went for our dinner at Pan Asian... hubby had Omelette fried rice and I had scallop curry noodle... Nice!

Earlier today, I ordered 2 free 8*10 collage at walgreen. They are ready for collection le...so ask hubby to send me there for collection. They are so nice..... very worth it!

Yesterday, went marketing with Liyi and Angel. We went to Yue Mei, Hmart, Oriental food market and lastly India Bazzar. I spent a total of $38 bucks for 2 weeks of groceries. Considered very cheap le.

Menu in mind what to cook for hubby: -

• Prawns with Golden Garlic
• Japanese curry rice

• Curry Chicken and prata
• Seafood with Vermicelli
• Diced Chicken with Shimeji mushroom

• Corn, tomatoes and potatoes soup
• Cabbage and fish ball soup

After marketing, we went to yogurtland to have ice yogurt located next to Hmart. The pricing is very reasonable and is calculated based on oz... so the more u get the more u have to pay! I paid $3.50 for 4 flavours and 3 toppings... so happy.. will definitely go back home for more!!!!!

It was so enjoyable and satisfying....

At Target, I bought a full size Dove deodorant original $3.29 paid $0.29 after coupon

$0.14 for 2 yogurts &

3 green apples for $0.76 after a $1 off 1pound coupon

Wanted to get some free stuff, like the trial size detergents, skittles & Vaseline body lotion

But during my checkout, the cashier rejected all my coupons

I was like WTH?

Angel transaction was successful ... we were using the same coupon lor but different cashier!

Think is really depends on the cashier de...

Updates on car accidental

yesterday hubby got advised from his colleagues

to file a case directly on the other party's insurance company

when he/she had already admitted the fault

Therefore, it is not necessary to notify our own insurance co.

Unless there is a dispute in the accidental

In this way, it will not affect our next year insurance premium

After knowing that, I called the 24hours auto claims to file a case

apparently, the driver had already notified her own insurance Co.

they had given me the contact for the officer in-charge of this claim

I called several times and left numerous phone messages

but did not receive any reply so far....

Was kinda angry de Argh...

They are always so slow in their response!

No choice ... have to wait patiently... Hope will call me tmr!

Accidentally drove to my lane then hit me head on

I saw that coming... i was like shit..

wat the heck is she doing?

She was looking at the side then she only realisewhen i sounded the horn lor!

But it was too late le!

Her Jaguar seems perfectly fine only stain with white paint

As for my car, the front bumper was dented then was like dislocated from the headlights

At at moment, I was very calm

I called hubby's colleague for SOS

They advised me to call the police

but police did not entertain us cos' it happened within a private apartment and there was no injury too!

In the end, we exchanged insurance particulars etc...

then will have to file a claim later

why such things have to happen unto me?????

Last Saturday, hubby is too lazy to go out for dinner

So we intend to cook some simple dishes

open the fridge and managed to find bean sprouts and broccoli

With the help from hubby

we cooked

1. a pot of porridge with dried scallop
   
2. Stir-fry beans sprout with salted fish
   
3. Broccoli with vegetarian chicken

This is the first time hubby offered his help in cooking

LOL! Looking at how he stir-fried and dice the garlic

Really make me laugh....

For the past 2 weekends, have been planning to get a haircut

But, until now still pending

wat's the problem???

Headache...Headache....

Don't know whether should get a new hairstyle

OR

Retain the existing one just trim can liao

intend to cut a bit more fringe (not too much until like mushroom)

Yesterday spent my whole day re-planning the road trip to NYC

Tentatively from 11 to 19 Sept (still pending for approval)

Liyi and Chong Thye will be joining us too!

So happy... finally we are not alone le...

What I have re-planned:

Instead of heading to Niagara Falls from Newark Intl' Airport

Have change it to Montreal as our first destination

Then, to Niagara fall; Washington DC finally to NYC

This itinerary will shorten the distance by 200miles

Cooked something special for dinner last weekend

served through internet and got the recipe for

"Fried Hokkien Mee"

This is a very simple dish

everyone out there should give it a try!

Recipe:

Ingredients:

Yellow flat noodles

Vermicelli rice sticks, soak in water to soften

Squid, sliced

Prawns, shells removed

Choy sum cut into section

Pork belly

Fish cake sliced

Chicken stock

Corn starch mixture

Gloves of Garlic

bean sprouts ends removed

Optional - eggs

Seasoning:

1 tablespoon dark soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

Method:

1. Stir-fried pork belly, prawns, squid, fish cakes and Choy sum with Garlic & set aside
2. In a pot, cooked the noodle and the vermicelli rice sticks with enough stock to cover it
3. when the noodle is cooked, add in seasonings, eggs, prawns, squid, pork belly, choy sum & bean sprouts
4. Let it cook for 1/2 min then slowly stir in the corn starch mixture to thicken the sauce
5. Done

Didn't know that is so easy!

Took about 45mins to get this done

Am proud of myself LOL!
